Our Daughter's Wedding

This is a place to collect together all the bits to do with our daughter's forthcoming wedding.

Here is the card that I made for their second anniversary. Is it really two years already.

I used the Butterfly Heart Dies from the John Next Door range.

This is the insert.

This is the card and box that I made for their first anniversary.

I had so many bits left over from the wedding it was easy to make.

The happy couple have just got back from their Honeymoon in Florida. They had a wonderful time.

4th October 2017
Here is a picture from their first day in Disney's Magic Kingdom.

This is the wedding card I made for them. I wanted to use lots of things from the wedding to make the card. I know they liked it.

Photos from the big day which was fabulous.

15th July 2017

Here is a gift I made for them one of my Scrabble Frames

The paper in the background is from the paper pad I used to make some of the flowers.

Saturday 8th July 2017
This is the tag I made for the present. I have the new Tim Holtz stamping platform this makes it easier to get good results with the stamps. The penguins come with matching dies. Our daughter always liked penguins.

Everything is now in all ten boxes to decorate the tables. The last thing to go in was the table gems which arrived yesterday.

30th June 2017

Despite it being very hot I have been making progress with the wedding makes it has been rather slow though.

The buttonholes are finished.

These are for the ladies most of them will be held on by magnets.

These are for the men they will be held on with pins.

I had made a table decoration for the Registrars table but when I went to move it some bits fell. I did try to fix it but it didn't work. So I ended up making a bouquet with a short stem and it sits in the bowl quite nicely and it won't fall apart.

21st June 2017

This the pile of boxes in our lounge waiting to go to the wedding.

So today the table centres were finished. Everything for each table has been put in an A4 paper box ready to take to the venue. Just the table plan and the buttonholes to finish.

18th June 2017

The things that have caused me, the trees, are now finished. I am so relieved. They are 4 and half feet tall and will stand at the end of the aisle.

17th June 2017
I made a wallet for the money to pay the lady doing the wedding dress alterations. She is bringing the dress back on Saturday and I am hoping to get shown how to lace the dress again.
8th June 2017

I have made the cards for the top of the table decorations.

Now we just need to cut the holders and the table decorations will be complete.

27th May 2017

We are a step closer to finishing the table decorations.

The small glass container and the candle are stuck in place with Pinflair gel glue. There is a plastic tube end in the top of each and the flowers rest on top. Now to make the name cards for the table.

25th May 2017

Today we had a planning meeting at Bristol Zoo. We had to leave the house by 6:00 to get there by 9:00. After the meeting we looked round the Zoo. At 1:00 my daughter and I had a hair trial. My hat proved to be a bit of an issue. But when we went back to our daughter's  house she sorted out how I should wear my hat.

In less than two months they will married.

20th May 2017

This is the basket for people to put their cards into.

14th May 2017

This weekend was the Hen Do we stayed in Swindon and went to Bath for a day out returning to Swindon to Party. I didn't stay out long I came back to the hotel.

In Bath we went to the Makery and we decorated knickers.

29th April 2017

23rd April 2017
So I finished the gift bags, matching tags and thank you cards. All for gifts to give out at the wedding. It is so nice to actually get something finished.

Another busy Saturday I have been making gift bags for thank you presents.

22nd April 2017
The image I have used is the one our daughter drew for the Save the Date cards. I am going to use it for Thank you cards too.

Today the flowers got sorted and made up.

Sorting the flowers.

Table decoration tops made up.

Large tree tops for the end of the aisle.

Bouquets all finished,

A table decoration for the registrars table. It needs a bit more work.

13th April 2017

A work in progress the Kusudama flowers for the table decorations.

Here is me posting the invitations this was done back in February. You can just see we used brown envelopes. The evening invitations were posted two weeks later and they had black envelopes. It was quite a relief when they were posted.

Progress has been made with the wedding invitations and evening invitations

5th February 2017

I have started work on the invitations for the wedding.

15th January 2016

Today our daughter and her fiance went back to the zoo to make their food and wine choices.

8th January 2017
They chose Onion Tartlet for starters followed by Roast Chicken and finally chocolate brownie. The wine they chose was Merlot (my favourite red) and Sauvignon Blanc.

I have been having a play. I need to make the button holes and I had to prove to myself that I could make them. This is my first design it needs tweaking and approval. I was rather pleased with my first effort.

I used the Cape Daisy die set designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions for the flowers and the Faux Quilled leaves also designed by Sue Wilson.

This show the back and the clip that can be used if there is not a button hole.

Here it is on my husband's jacket.  I made this on 30th December 2016

The table favours are finished. It is nearly time to work on the invitations. The cake has also been ordered. Plans are moving ahead. The favours were finished on Christmas Eve.

27th December 2016

Our daughter came home for the weekend and on the Saturday  we went into Southampton to visit Tiffanys Wedding and Prom dress shop. We were given lots of help and advice and we purchased a wedding dress and shoes for the big day next year. The dress needs to be altered (made shorter) that is the next step.

12th November 2016
Here is the dress hanging in our spare room.

Our daughter and her fiance moved into the house they have bought together it is very exciting.

It is on a new estate in Andover.
This is the card I made for them. 14th October 2016
Today was the day we sorted and posted the Save the Date magnets. I must say a big thank you to my husband who sorted all the printing. It took him a long time to get all the names right.

Everything ready to get started.

Ready for posting.

Me posting them on 30th August 2016

We have been working on the design of the table decoration and we are nearly there. This is what we have come up with so far.

10th August 2016
Real flowers are so expensive so I have been having a play with a table decoration idea. These are Kusudama flowers made into half a ball. The centres are Babies Breath from Hobbycraft. There is a tea light (electric) in the bottom. It is a design that needs working on but it is a start.

26th July 2016

So last week I finished the Save the Date fridge magnets and I made a box to keep them in. The next stage will be sending them out.

22nd July 2016

Our daughter drew a picture of her rabbits as a bride and groom for he Save the Date cards.

The plan is to make fridge magnets.

This is the proto type on the fridge the size is A7 so not too big.

The deposit for the venue has been paid and the registrar has been booked. This is the announcement that went out on Facebook today.

12th May 2016
Our daughter and her fiancé have visited lots of possible venues including Beaulieu Motor Museum and London Zoo. Today (23rd April 2016) they visited Bristol Zoo. These are the pictures they took on their visit.

Decision made this is where the wedding will be on July 15th 2017.

Today with our daughter and her fiancé  we visited a stunning venue in the New Forest they were having an Open Day. It was Rhinefield House Hotel in Brockenhurst. We all liked it a lot.

30th March 2016

This is the engagement card I made for them I tried to show what it was like on the night in question. It was inspired by a design by Sue Wilson.

On 14th February 2016 Tim proposed to Hannah under the Northern Lights in Iceland and she said yes. In this picture they are sat in the church in Reykjavik.

Hi Jackie,
oh what an tremdous task, but all seems very much in hand with your lovely work.
I made my Granddaughter's Wedding Ivites, and a poem asking for moeny instead of presents as they had most of their things from living together.
I only had to make 88 invites, and poems, and that was such a task I can tell you.
Luckily she had a simple stamped design, and 2 butterflies on the invites, but the butterfly would not cut out unless it was shimmed and run through the die cutting machine 4 times I can tell you I was tearting my hair out as I only had a GC at the time.
Good luck with all your preperations, and I do hope all goes well on the day, and the weather is marvellous.
My Granddaughter got married on the 14th of July 2012, and it pured with rain all day and we had howling winds too.
Such a shame after 2years of planning.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Hi Jackie,

You have done so much! I love your table centerpieces. I've made those, and each flower is five pieces! Then you made globes of multiple flowers. Wow! And they're beautiful! Love those bunnies! What a creative family you have!
Love,
Donita

Hello Jackie,
Oh my word, you have certainly worked hard on this. My daughter was married 24 years ago and I'm just thankful I wasn't into paper craft then as I'd have tried to do it all and possibly failed. I'm filled with admiration at all you've done, and the pictures your daughter drew.
Good luck on the day, happy lacing up of the wedding dress, and I wish them every happiness. Enjoy the day, try to remember every little thing.
Best wishes,
love Maureen xx (friend of Diane)
